In her own words
2008 will be your first season working with Health Net Presented by Maxxis. How did you get involved with the team?
(Team chiropractor) Mike San Jose gave me a call and said the team was looking for another Soigneur
What other cycling teams have you worked with in the past?
Navigators Insurance, Lipton Women's Team
How/why did you end up working with a professional cycling team in the first place?
I worked as a soigneur during the Tour of Hope in 2005. At the end of the tour Michael Roshon came up to me and asked me if I had ever thought about working for a professional team and the rest is history.
Can you describe what your role is for the team, especially before, during and after races?
Make sure the riders have what they need so that they feel great and can perform at their peak level.
From your perspective, what makes a soigneur good at what they do?
Always thinking ahead so that you can give the riders what they need before they have to ask for it.
What about from the rider's perspective?
To make sure that they only have to think about riding their bike.
Are you a cyclist yourself?
Nope, but I have a beach cruiser
What are your interests outside of cycling?
Taking by my dogs to the beach, weight lifting, hiking, chilling with my boyfriend, motocrossing and enjoying life in Santa Barbara.
When you're not working with the team, what do you do?
I am a Oriental Medicine Practitioner. I practice Acupuncture, massage and prescribe herbs.
