Louder and Moninger in position as Mt. Nebo looms

Heber City, UT - Jeff Louder and Scott Moninger of the Health Net Pro Cycling Team Presented by Maxxis both rode strong time trials Wednesday to keep them close to the top of the overall standings heading into the first mountain stage of the Tour of Utah.

Louder finished 5th on the day, covering the eight-mile course in 16:16.35 minutes, 25.68 seconds back of stage winner Chris Wherry (Toyota-United), who is continuing a strong run of form this summer. Moninger finished 7th at 37.18 back.

Louder goes into Thursday's climbing stage in 4th overall, just 0:30 behind Wherry, while Moninger is in 7th at 0:55.

Thursday's stage ends with a 24-mile, 4,300-foot climb to Mt. Nebo, which rises to nearly 8,900 feet above the Utah desert. And while the TT started to give a clearer picture of who would be at the top of the leader board, the 67.5 mile stage with the long drag upward should bring that picture even more into focus.
