Mt. Hood, OR - Nathan O'Neill of the Health Net Pro Cycling Team Presented by Maxxis once again capitalized on his talents as a world-class time trialist, winning the opening prologue - a short individual time trial - of the Mt. Hood Cycling Classic in Oregon Wednesday.

O'Neill covered the rolling, three-mile stage in 6:07, nine seconds ahead of pro mountain biker Ryan Trebon (AEG-Toshiba) and 16 seconds ahead of Ian McKessick (Recycled Cycles). Scott Moninger of Health Net Presented by Maxxis finished 8th, 23 seconds behind his teammate.

O'Neill will wear the race leader's jersey Thursday for Stage 2, an 84-mile road race.
